Student Recruiter
Salary: $52,428 to $63,972 per year
Location: Slave Lake, High Prairie, Peace River or Fairview

Qualifications:
- College diploma in a related field
- Experience in one or more of the following: sales/marketing/PR/student recruitment or career guidance would be an asset
- A clean vulnerable sector criminal record check prior to commencement
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

Nature and Scope of Work:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Dual Credit and Recruitment, the Student Recruiter is responsible for marketing and promoting the programs of Northern Lakes College to potential students and responding to inquiries from potential students on various programs. The primary function of this position is to maximize each opportunity to market programs to meet or exceed the enrollment targets for the College.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and detailed information about Northern Lakes College programs, courses, services, admission requirements, and applicable processes. Advise prospective students on educational and career pathways
- Represent Northern Lakes College at middle schools, high schools, colleges and Educational Liaison Association of Alberta (ELAA) events, career fairs, trade shows, and other recruitment activities
- Deliver presentations to groups and individuals, and build relationships with students, parents, teachers, school counsellors, and other stakeholders to promote College programming
- Coordinate community workshops and arrange campus visits for prospective students, parents, and community groups
- Serve as a liaison between the College and school divisions, fostering partnerships and collaborative opportunities throughout the province
- Distribute and promote student recruitment and retention resources; monitor and analyze trends and contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participates in the development and implementation of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials
- Assist with the annual review, development, and updating of recruitment materials/publications including, the Viewbook, recruitment presentations, displays, and marketing resources
- Respond to inquiries from students and agencies
- Conduct campus tours and develop materials to support self-guided campus tours, when applicable
- Provide information regarding student housing options for prospective students
- Collaborate with Student Services, Student Success, and other College departments to ensure a seamless transition from prospect to applicant to student
- Planning and participating in campus events such as Open Houses and Information Sessions
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Willingness to work some weekends and evenings
Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals
- Extensive knowledge of Northern Lakes College programs and learner services
- Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues
- Knowledge of the student funding process
- A positive attitude and customer-focused approach
- Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and curriculum/graduation requirements.
