In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Team Leader, Community Acute Stabilization Team or designate, the Clinician is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating client care activities within the framework of quality management and in accordance with Best Practices and the Northern Health mission statement. The role is defined by the needs of the service, client/family, population, program expectations and the goals for professional nursing practice. Functions as a primary therapist for an individual client caseload as well therapist or co-therapist in group programs. Provide comprehensive Mental Health and Addiction assessment, crises intervention and follow-up services as required. Also provides an education/consultation role in response to the needs of health care providers, family physicians, community agencies, families & clients, and other team members on mental health issues.
Resume and cover letter outlining Addictions & Counselling Experience. Must have a Master Degree in SW or Counselling.
Qualfications
•Master’s of Social Work degree from a recognized school of social work.
• Registered with the BC College of Social Workers.
• Rudimentary knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical disorders, medical terminology, medications in current use and possible side effects is an asset.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the health care team.

• Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
• Ability to use an electronic file system for service delivery.
• Advanced computer skills preferred.
• Transportation may be a requirement for this position (Class V license).
