  • Ability to support research, environmental scanning, and development of project materials, briefing notes, presentations, and recommendations to support initiatives such as AED deployment, substance use prevention, naloxone access, and community service proposals.

  • Assist with the collection, organization, analysis, and presentation of community safety and wellbeing data to support improvements to strategy, performance measurement, and dashboard reporting.

  • Support community engagement and interest holder coordination activities by preparing meeting materials, documenting discussions, tracking action items, and assisting with follow-up on project deliverables.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to support research, analyze, and summarize information clearly and accurately to support policy, planning, and project development in a local government environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documents, presentations, and correspondence for internal and external audiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, partner agencies, and community interest holders on sensitive and complex community safety and wellbeing issues.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and an interest in data management, reporting, and dashboard development; experience with data visualization or analysis tools is an asset.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply these skills or quickly learn and develop them in a professional setting.

DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Enrolled in the second-to-last or final year of a program relevant to the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined in this posting.

  • No prior experience required.
