Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and organized Event Supervisor to oversee event staff and coordinate with venue teams to ensure smooth event operations. Supervisors manage teams ranging from 3 to 40 security guards, depending on event size and type.
The Event Supervisor will manage staff, communicate with venue representatives, and ensure all activities comply with venue policies and event schedules. Multiple supervisors may be assigned to the same site depending on event size.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate event staff during setup, operations, and breakdown.
- Assign duties and ensure staff clearly understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Act as the main point of contact between event staff and venue representatives.
- Coordinate with venue teams regarding schedules, access, and operational requirements.
- Ensure staff follow venue policies, safety procedures, and event timelines.
- Monitor staff performance and maintain professional standards during events.
- Address and resolve any staff or venue-related issues promptly.
- Ensure proper coordination with venue staff during setup, operations, and cleanup.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory or event experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage teams in a fast-paced event environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation to all event venues.
Preferred Experience
- Supervising security staff at sports events, concerts, or large venues.
- Experience with crowd management and access control.
- Coordinating with venue operations and emergency services.
- Writing incident or shift reports.
Mandatory Certifications
Candidates must provide valid certificates or complete training prior to placement:
- Smart Serve.
- AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act).
- WHMIS.
- First Aid / CPR.
- Valid Ontario Security Licence.
- Stay Safe / Use of Force Training.
Leadership Expectations
- Lead by example, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Ensure guards represent the company and the venue in a professional manner.
- Supervisors may have opportunities for additional event management responsibilities based on performance.
