We are looking for an intern in electrical engineering to join our HVDC team at Hitachi Energy – Montreal. You will be part of a team of talented engineers working for Systems Design department, reporting to the HVDC Engineering Manager in Canada. You will contribute with system performance studies using RMS and EMT tools. Internship duration: 6 months
Start date: August 3rd , 2026 (flexible)
Work schedule: Full-time
Location: St. Laurent, Montreal, Quebec
Work mode: Hybrid (Combination of remote and in-office work)
Responsibilities:
• Support system performance and models team with RMS / EMT studies
• Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments

Your background:
• You are studying or is recent graduated on Masters or PhD on electrical engineering or correlated area
• You are passionate for Electric Power Engineering
• You can make the complex simple and show creativity in your approach to problem solving You are ready to work in an international and multicultural work environment.
• Previous experience with high voltage equipment and electrical drawings schematics is an asset.
• Experience with RMS / EMT studies and models will be highly appreciated.
• Able to communicate in French and English.
