We are thrilled to partner with Cresco as we look to bring an Accounting Associate to their dedicated team in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the finance team, the Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of multiple entities. This role plays a key part in accounts payable processing, banking activities, reconciliations, government remittances, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including receiving, matching, coding, and posting invoices
  • Coordinate payment approvals and process cheque and EFT payments
  • Complete vendor account reconciliations and maintain accurate supplier records
  • Prepare credit applications and supporting documentation as required
  • Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and in a timely manner
  • Process incoming customer payments through accounts receivable
  • Prepare and post banking-related journal entries
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations for multiple entities
  • Prepare HST returns and support government reporting requirements
  • Coordinate HST and Corporate Tax installment remittances
  • Assist with compliance reporting and regulatory filings as required
  • Provide support on other accounting duties, projects, and initiatives as needed

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Previous experience in a high-volume or multi-entity accounts payable environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Sage Intacct would be considered an asset
  • Experience with job cost coding would be considered an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities, with a demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues proactively
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A self-motivated approach, strong initiative, and the ability to exercise sound judgment
  • The ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude and a passion for building strong working relationships
  • A willingness to learn new skills and contribute to a collaborative team environment
