Job Description
Your Opportunity
AECOM is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our Buildings + Places team in Burnaby, BC.
In this role, you will be embedded within high-performing, multidisciplinary project teams supporting the successful delivery of complex building and infrastructure projects, including institutional, federal, and major capital programs. This position is for a newly created position.
You will play a critical role in project coordination, controls, and execution, working closely with Project Managers and technical leads to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to AECOM’s quality standards.

What You Will Do
You will support the full project lifecycle through strong coordination, communication, and project controls discipline:
Project Coordination & Delivery
Support Project Managers in the day-to-day coordination of project activities across multidisciplinary teams
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and consultants to support seamless project execution
Prepare and maintain meeting minutes, action logs, and follow-up tracking
Project Controls & Performance Monitoring
Support project controls activities, including tracking budgets, schedules, deliverables, and action items to ensure alignment with AECOM quality standards
Assist with budget tracking, forecasting inputs, and financial reporting, including support for invoicing and cost management
Monitor progress against key milestones and escalate risks or delays as required
Deliverables & Document Management
Track and coordinate project deliverables, ensuring completeness, quality, and timely submission
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including version control and document management workflows
Support preparation and review of project documentation (drawings, reports, shop drawings, and submittals)
Scheduling & Workflow Management
Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules and monitor ongoing progress
Manage workflows, deadlines, and document submissions within project systems
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Collect and analyze project data to support decision-making and reporting
Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports
Identify opportunities to improve coordination processes, reporting, and efficiency
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada security clearance
Security Clearance Requirements
Must hold or be eligible to obtain:
Reliability Status (minimum)
Secret Clearance (required for most projects)
Clearances are administered by the Contract Security Program (CSP) through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC)
Preferred Qualifications
3 to 5 years of relevant project coordination or project delivery experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience supporting building or infrastructure projects
Exposure to project management processes, including project controls and reporting
Familiarity with engineering and architectural documentation and coordination workflows
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Proactive, detail-oriented, and accountable work style
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (tracking, reporting, data analysis)
Experience with project scheduling tools (MS Project or equivalent)
Familiarity with document control and collaboration platforms (SharePoint, BIM 360, Aconex, etc.)

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65000 to $90000.
