Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our client's warehouse team.
- This is a Temporary to Permanent Role and pays $20.21 to start. The shift is from 12PM to 8PM Monday to Friday.
- During the training period the hours are 10AM to 6PM Monday to Friday.
- This position starts right away and requires a person with a forklift license for a sit down counter balance. This person will be driving a Sit Down Counter Balance Forklift that is electric.
- Priority is given to people with at least 3 years of experience.
This role is essential for efficiently managing inventory, ensuring safe handling of materials, and maintaining smooth warehouse operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where safety, accuracy, and efficiency are paramount.
Duties
- Safely operate forklifts to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload shipments with precision, ensuring proper handling of goods
- Pick and prepare orders accurately using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as required, adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Assist with inventory management by organizing stock and maintaining accurate records
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with team members for efficient workflow
- Utilize basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities during order picking and packing processes
Requirements
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts,
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for accurate order picking and inventory counts
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution procedures and safety standards
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team in a warehouse setting is essential
