Responsibilities

Software Programming:

Program and design core software structures for advanced tools helping individuals with visual impairments.

Feature Development:

Take ownership of implementing and troubleshooting innovative software solutions and user features.

Requirements Analysis:

Participate in user requirements workshops and define functional technical specifications.

Embedded Deployment:

Deploy clean code on structured embedded platforms running Linux, Android, or Windows CE environments.

Technical Recommendations:

Provide architectural recommendations, code reviews, and structured analysis for long-term product solutions.

Estimation & Documentation:

Build software development time estimations and maintain thorough, readable systems documentation.

Media Processing:

Work on core product layers handling image and video processing components.


Qualifications
Qualifications Here are the qualifications required for this Software Developer at this retail leader in Montreal;

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

6 to 8 years of solid, relevant software development experience.

Masterful command of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages including Java, C, C++, and/or C#.

Deep experience working with embedded systems and Linux-based platforms.

Strong knowledge of UML modeling and software design principles.

Bilingualism (English and French), both written and spoken, to maintain seamless communication with global engineering partners.

Excellent team spirit, ability to handle high-pressure R&D timelines, and a strong analytical posture.

Assets: Exposure to OpenGL architecture, advanced video/image codecs, or assistive technology systems.
