The Director of Emergency Medicine is responsible for delivering a highperforming safe and effective Emergency Department service. The role oversees the overall coordination performance and clinical governance of the department ensuring that standards of practice are consistently monitored and maintained. A key priority is fostering a safe environment for both patients and staff.
In addition the Director leads and implements change initiatives to drive continuous improvement and achieve agreed clinical and operational outcomes within the service.
The Directorship is appointed for a fixed term of five (5) years aligned with a quinquennial review period.
