Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a temporary opportunity with a growing organization. This in-office Calgary role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with strong experience managing the month-end close, financial reporting, and supporting a high-performing accounting team within a publicly traded company.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses.
* Manage the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
* Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to the accounting team while supporting day-to-day operations.
* Coordinate audit requests and assist with external audits, financial statement preparation, and regulatory reporting.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and support finance initiatives.
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and other ad hoc financial analysis as required.
Compensation & Details
* $55–$65 per hour
* Location: Calgary, hybrid work model
* Temporary assignment
Required Qualifications & Skills
* CPA designation preferred.* Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
* 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
* Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
* Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
