JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of ice as well as the sale of ice and related products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safe, on-time delivery and sales of ice and related products including the merchandising of individual bags and full pallets.
- Reconciles inventories of product quantities sold.
- Delivers exceptional customer service to all Arctic Glacier’s customers.
- Operates vehicles in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the company training and policies.
- Ensures cleanliness of delivery vehicle.
- Ensures accurate count of cash collected from deliveries.
- Accountable for executing hands on activities with excellence, including but not limited to managing product placement in merchandisers, managing inventory movement, and tidying up merchandisers as required.
- Will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in order to meet the needs of the business.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have and maintain a valid commercial drivers license (AZ, DZ, Class 1, Class 5, Class 3) pending requirements of the vehicle
- Must be elible to work in Canada
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid medical card required.
- 1 years’ experience working in a distribution environment preferred.
- 1 years’ experience working in a similar role preferred.
Equipment/Machines Used:
- Transportation trucks applicable to the position.
- Hydraulic lift gates (if applicable).
- POS handheld units.
- Material handling equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks and industrial lift truck.
Travel Requirements:
- Overnight travel not required.
- Intra and inter-province travel may be required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely enter/exit the cab and tail of the delivery vehicle repeatedly.
- Must be able to load and unload trailer.
- Must be able to push and pull using material handling equipment up to 300 lbs repeatedly.
