Education Technologist

Duties: Reporting to the Dean, Innovation in Teaching and Learning, this position manages the College's digital learning platform for online, hybrid, and digital learning operations for College of the Rockies' main and regional campuses. The position ensures the smooth functioning of the College's Learning Management System (LMS) for all staff and students. It requires management of multiple software platforms and coordinating institutional efforts with several senior managers including the Registrar, Director of IT, and Deans. Additionally, this position provides tier 1, 2, and 3 technical support for the LMS and its users. This includes technical training and support for COTR students, faculty, and staff in the application of instructional technology. These roles are mission critical in maintaining access to the LMS software for students and faculty and supporting the College's strategic and academic plans for continuous quality improvement, increased student success, enhancing the learning and working environment.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in education, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science with Web Design, or a related field is required; a diploma or certification in a relevant technical support area is considered an asset. The position requires a minimum of two years of related experience working with learning management systems, including providing technical and user support, as well as experience in technical support/help desk environments and technical writing for web-based applications. Experience teaching or learning in an online environment using LMS technology, knowledge of curriculum design processes, and familiarity with web design and HTML are preferred. Demonstrated experience coordinating projects and working across multiple departments with specialized software platforms is essential. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.

Salary: Position #129
CUPE Pay Level 6 with a starting wage of $51,305.80 per year with increments progressing to Step 5 as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
