Job Description

The Production Manager oversees day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure output, quality, and delivery targets are consistently met. This role leads and develops production supervisors and hourly teams across multiple shifts, drives a strong safety-first culture, and partners closely with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment utilization, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. The Production Manager plays a key role in supporting production planning, scheduling, and inventory management while maintaining high standards of product quality and advancing sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily production operations to achieve output, quality, and on-time delivery targets.
• Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly employees across all shifts.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and regulations, and promote a strong safety-first culture.
• Oversee equipment utilization and partner with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and process optimization.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as productivity, downtime, scrap, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to support operational goals.
• Support production planning, scheduling, and inventory management to effectively meet customer demand.
• Maintain high product quality standards and ensure adherence to company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Lead initiatives that support organizational sustainability goals, including efficient use of recycled materials in production processes.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in rubber, plastics, or building materials.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production setting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production equipment, and coordination with maintenance functions.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production demands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in industrial production environments such as rubber, plastics, or building materials manufacturing.
• Experience working with sustainability-focused operations and recycled materials.
• Familiarity with monitoring and improving KPIs including productivity, downtime, scrap, and OEE.
• Comfort with hands-on leadership in a plant setting, including regular presence on the production floor.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
