Senior React Native Developer

Our client, is seeking an experienced, high-caliber Senior React Native Developer to join their mobile engineering division.

In this senior technical role, you will drive the evolution of high-volume, customer-facing mobile applications used by millions of Canadians daily. Leveraging your deep expertise in React Native, TypeScript, and native mobile ecosystems, you will design, build, and optimize features across iOS and Android platforms. Working within a collaborative Agile squad, you will bridge front-end user experiences with sophisticated cloud infrastructures and microservices, acting as a technical leader who enforces clean code architecture and mobile performance standards.

Responsibilities
Feature Development & Engineering: Lead the lifecycle design and implementation of new features and enhancements across enterprise React Native mobile applications for iOS and Android.

Cross-Functional Synthesis: Partner tightly with UI/UX designers, Product Owners, QA teams, and backend engineers to translate high-level business logic into clean, reusable, and maintainable TypeScript source code.

API & Service Integration: Connect mobile front-ends securely to distributed RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and real-time backend cloud services.

Native Component Bridging: Author and maintain native platform wrappers and modules in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) when required for deep hardware or OS-level integrations.

Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot, profile, and resolve memory leaks, frame-rate drops, and responsiveness bottlenecks across the mobile application stack.

DevOps Pipeline Governance: Maintain, configure, and monitor automated CI/CD pipeline definitions for seamless mobile builds, automated testing executions, and store deployment readiness.

Mentorship & Code Quality: Enforce rigorous engineering guidelines, perform comprehensive code reviews, and mentor junior-to-intermediate developers within the squad.



Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4+ years dedicated to delivering production-grade React Native applications at scale.

Core Programming Stack: High proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.

Mobile Patterns & Architecture: Deep understanding of mobile-specific navigation patterns (React Navigation) and robust state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX, or Recoil).

Native Ecosystem Familiarity: Solid working knowledge of native iOS platforms (Swift / Objective-C) or Android architectures (Kotlin / Java) to manage native bridge integrations.

Infrastructure & Version Control: Hands-on experience with version control systems (Git/Gitflow), repository management tools (Azure Repos), and automated CI/CD pipelines.

Testing Frameworks: Practical familiarity setting up or maintaining mobile testing utilities such as Jest, Detox, or Appium.

Soft Skills: Outstanding communication and collaborative skills; comfortable navigating ambiguous requirements within fast-paced Agile/Scrum engineering frameworks.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Functional scripting experience utilizing Python.

Hands-on experience with GraphQL schemas and Apollo Client data-fetching layers.

Background managing mobile analytics suites, feature flagging, A/B testing implementations, and application observability monitoring (New Relic).

General familiarity with cloud service models (Azure, GCP, or AWS) for mobile backend integrations.
