Senior Program Manager to support a large-scale academic transformation initiative within a leading post-secondary and health sciences environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a bilingual project leader with a strong background in complex program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role overseeing multiple interdependent workstreams, coordinating diverse stakeholder groups, and driving progress toward a critical implementation deadline.

- Location: Ottawa, ON
- Shift: Monday-Friday | 8:00am - 4:00pm | hybrid eligible for up to 2 days per week telework

Responsibilities: Program & Project Leadership - Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, multi-year strategic initiatives
- Manage multiple interconnected workstreams while ensuring alignment with overall program objectives
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and performance measures
- Track deliverables, dependencies, and critical path activities to ensure successful implementation
- Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, issues, and barriers
Stakeholder & Governance Management - Collaborate with faculty members, academic leaders, department heads, and senior administrators
- Support governance processes by coordinating committees, working groups, and advisory bodies
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations
- Build alignment among diverse stakeholder groups with varying priorities and perspectives
- Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and briefing materials
Change Management & Implementation - Support organizational and academic change initiatives through effective planning and communication
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain momentum and project success
- Lead discussions that support consensus-building and informed decision-making
- Navigate complex governance and approval processes within academic institutions
Strategic Planning & Communications - Ensure project milestones support broader institutional priorities and accreditation requirements
- Develop and maintain project communications for diverse audiences
- Produce documentation, reports, and presentations in both official languages
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding project status, risks, and key decisions
Qualifications and Skills: - Master's degree in:
- Health Professions Education
- Education
- Project Management
- Program Management
- Health Sciences
- Or a related discipline
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- Full professional proficiency in English and French (written and spoken)
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive project or program management experience
- Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-year transformational projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement and governance management experience
- Experience within:
- Academic medicine
- Health sciences education
- Universities
- Academic institutions
- Experience working with faculty councils, governance committees, curriculum committees, or similar structures
- Familiarity with undergraduate medical education (UGME) or health professions curricula
- Exceptional project and program management expertise
- Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Advanced risk management and issue resolution capabilities
- Ability to balance strategic objectives with operational execution
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and consensus-building skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Experience managing competing priorities in complex matrix environments
- Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and organizational change
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strategic thinker with strong execution skills
- Relationship builder who can influence across all levels of an organization
- Experienced facilitator of committees, working groups, and stakeholder forums
- Skilled communicator able to engage senior leaders and academic stakeholders
- Adaptable professional who performs well in evolving environments
- Results-driven leader with a passion for continuous improvement
