Senior React Native Developer

Our client, is seeking a high-performing Senior React Native Developer to join their core mobile engineering team.

In this high-impact consulting role, you will drive the evolution of customer-facing mobile applications that serve millions of Canadian shoppers every day. Leveraging your deep expertise in React Native, TypeScript, and mobile architecture, you will lead the development of new features, optimize app performance, and build scalable native integrations for both iOS and Android platforms. Working in a collaborative, cross-functional Agile environment, you will partner closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and backend cloud teams to deliver high-quality code and maintain robust CI/CD deployment pipelines. This role is ideal for a senior mobile engineer who combines hands-on technical excellence with mentorship and software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities
Feature Development & Native Engineering
Mobile Feature Leadership: Lead the design and end-to-end development of new features and performance enhancements across iOS and Android React Native applications.

Clean Code & Architecture: Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested TypeScript/JavaScript code following established software engineering design patterns.

Native Module Integration: Build and maintain native modules in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) as needed to integrate platform-specific features into the React Native framework.

API & Backend Integration: Connect mobile frontends with RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, Firebase services, and enterprise cloud infrastructure.

Quality, CI/CD & Team Enablement
Performance & Optimization: Profile and optimize app responsiveness, memory utilization, render speeds, and asset consumption.

CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance: Implement, support, and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines for mobile releases using Git/Azure Repos and CI/CD tooling.

Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct thorough peer code reviews, enforce coding standards, mentor junior developers, and foster engineering excellence.

Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, translating complex business requirements into clear technical designs and actionable user stories.



Qualifications
Software Engineering Experience: 6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4+ years dedicated to React Native delivering production applications at scale.

Core Programming Languages: High proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.

Mobile Architecture & State Management: Solid command of mobile architecture, state management frameworks (Redux, MobX, or Recoil), and navigation libraries (React Navigation).

Native Platform Literacy: Direct experience with native iOS (Swift / Objective-C) and/or Android (Kotlin / Java) development for platform-specific React Native integrations.

Tooling & CI/CD Pipelines: Hands-on experience with Git/Gitflow, Azure Repos, CI/CD deployment pipelines, and mobile build utilities.

Security & APIs: Strong understanding of RESTful API design, Firebase, and mobile security standards.

Testing & Quality Assurance: Familiarity with mobile testing frameworks such as Jest, Detox, or Appium.

Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and debugging abilities; strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Experience with Python scripting or backend development.

Knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo Client integrations.

Experience with mobile analytics platforms, A/B testing frameworks, and feature flag management.

Familiarity with major cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and mobile app observability platforms (e.g., New Relic).
