Job Title: IT Site Lead
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Site Lead to oversee and support all IT operations across our Malahat and Victoria locations. This individual will serve as the primary on-site IT contact, delivering exceptional end-user support while ensuring reliable operation of workplace technology, local infrastructure, and IT services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with strong troubleshooting abilities, experience supporting Windows-based environments, and a customer-first mindset. This role requires the ability to work independently, proactively identify issues, and collaborate effectively with regional and global IT teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary IT contact for on-site employees and business stakeholders
- Provide end-to-end support for hardware, software, networking, and workplace technology issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, docking station, mobile device, and application-related problems
- Manage and prioritize incidents, service requests, and changes through ServiceNow or a similar ITSM platform
- Perform computer imaging, deployment, configuration, and software installation
- Support Active Directory user account administration and access management
- Maintain accurate asset inventory and CMDB records throughout the device lifecycle
- Coordinate local infrastructure support, including network connectivity and server room environments
- Support conference room technology, collaboration tools, and executive/VIP users
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions to reduce recurring issues
- Partner with vendors, business stakeholders, and IT teams to ensure successful service delivery
- Support site projects, office moves, technology refreshes, onboarding activities, and operational initiatives
- Use service metrics and operational data to drive continuous improvement
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT support experience (7+ years preferred)
- Experience supporting Windows-based enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of desktop, laptop, hardware, and software troubleshooting
- Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM/ticketing platforms
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory administration
- Experience imaging, deploying, and configuring computers
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Experience managing IT assets and inventory
- Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Strong customer service, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, or operational environments
- Familiarity with ITIL service management practices
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Lean problem-solving techniques
- Experience supporting conference room technologies and collaboration platforms
- Knowledge of endpoint management solutions such as Intune or SCCM
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting infrastructure upgrades, site projects, office relocations, or technology refresh initiatives
Work Environment
The work environment includes office, lab, and site environments, requiring frequent walking between buildings or work areas. The role involves lifting and transporting IT equipment up to approximately 25–40 lbs. Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, or reaching is necessary to install, troubleshoot, or maintain equipment. The position may require work in data closets or server rooms, which may involve confined spaces and varying temperatures. The role demands visual acuity to read technical information, device screens, labels, and documentation. The IT Site Lead should be comfortable working for extended periods at a computer workstation and responding to on-site incidents quickly.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Victoria, BC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
