Now Hiring: Senior Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls Engineer to support the integration, definition, testing, troubleshooting, and certification of Fly-By-Wire and Secondary Flight Control Systems on advanced aircraft programs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an aerospace engineering professional with strong experience in flight control systems, aircraft integration, system certification, MATLAB/Simulink, ARP4754, and Part 25 certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform integration of Fly-By-Wire and Secondary Flight Control systems on aircraft
- Support the development of system concepts, design approach, and design philosophy with flight control system suppliers
- Perform and review analysis to evaluate concept feasibility
- Develop, validate, and verify technical requirements for flight control systems
- Prepare and review technical requirements, test procedures, and test reports
- Execute test rig and/or aircraft testing
- Support certification activities and ensure compliance with required development processes
- Troubleshoot in-service aircraft issues, including root cause analysis and corrective action definition
- Ensure compliance with the ARP4754 development process
- Support trade-off studies and life cycle cost analysis for future aircraft programs
- Ensure equipment implementation aligns with Bombardier requirements and standards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 7+ years of aerospace engineering experience
- Direct experience with the definition and certification of at least one Fly-By-Wire and/or Secondary Flight Control system
- Strong understanding of system definition, integration, verification, validation, and certification
- Knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces, including electrical, hydraulic, avionics, and auto-flight systems
- Knowledge of the Part 25 certification process
- Working knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
- Experience with modeling and dynamic simulation of flight control electrical and hydraulic actuators is an asset
- Familiarity with ADAMS and/or CATIA is an asset
- Experience with MS Office and requirements management tools is preferred
- Fluent in English and French
Occasional travel may be required to supplier facilities, regulatory authorities, Final Assembly Lines in Toronto and Montréal, Completion Centers in Montréal, and the Flight Test Center in Wichita.
The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, customer-focused, technically strong, and able to work under pressure with limited supervision.
