Job description
We are seeking an energetic and safety-focused Material Handler to work at our Burnaby facility! Schedule: Afternoon shift, 2:30pm to 10:00pm. Compensation:
  • $31/hr to $35/hr based on experience
  • Monthly, uncapped profit-sharing
  • RRSP matching
  • Extended health & dental
  • Boot allowance
  • 2-3 weeks of paid vacation
Responsibilities:
  • Organizes materials into well-arranged piles
  • Handles materials to meet customer requirements
  • Transfers materials in and out of bins, dumps, trailers, and railcars
  • Recognizes potential risks and takes steps to maintain safety and environmental standards
  • Carries out routine upkeep, including inspections, lubrication, and blade adjustments
  • Operates independently when working off-site
Qualifications:
  • Experience or training in operating various heavy equipment, including excavators, mobile shears, material handlers, and wheel loaders
  • Previous work with metals or in demolition is considered an advantage
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Familiarity with standard safety procedures
  • High school diploma or GED certification
  • Ability to pass regular random drug and alcohol screening
