Job description
Are you a motivated sales professional with a passion for the food industry and an undeniable hunter mentality? An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Food Service Sales Representative to join a premier, Canadian-owned protein specialist and food manufacturer. This full-time, permanent position is field-based and focuses on driving commercial growth within a well-established geographic territory covering Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Burnaby. As an integral member of our client's team, you will report directly to the Sales Manager and take ownership of a dynamic portfolio, serving as the strategic face of the company to diverse foodservice clients, local restaurants, and retail partners.

In the modern landscape of sales & marketing, building authentic partnerships is the key to expanding market share. This role is tailor-made for a business development champion who thrives on identifying prospective clients, executing targeted outreach, and capturing new business opportunities. While you will inherit an active customer base, your primary objective will be to hunt for fresh growth, utilizing competitive market data and product innovations to deliver high-value solutions. You will spend the vast majority of your time on the road, engaging face-to-face with operators, while utilizing Fridays in the Richmond branch office for territory administration and strategic planning.

To support your transition into this competitive sector, our client provides an industry-leading onboarding program designed for long-term career security. Rather than throwing you directly into the territory, you will complete a comprehensive training and relief-work framework lasting up to three months to fully understand product manufacturing and logistics. Furthermore, your compensation package features a fully guaranteed salary and commission structure for the entire first year, eliminating the stress of building a pipeline from scratch. This supportive environment reflects our client's dedication to setting up their workforce for sustainable excellence and true career development.

Linguistic proficiency and clear communication are vital to success in this position. While the primary territory is English-speaking, strong bilingual communication skills are highly valued to interact effectively with a diverse customer base and coordinate with national head office teams across Canada.

Randstad Professional: Find the right job, love what you do, and develop your career. With access to a wide range of roles with top employers, a global community of professional peers, and specialized training and support, we’ll be your guiding partner and help you build a rewarding career.

Advantages
•Competitive base salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 per year based on experience.
•Guaranteed commission scheme during your first year to ensure financial stability during onboarding.
•Uncapped commission potential with realistic paths to exceed $100,000 within one to two years.
•Comprehensive health and dental benefits coverage for you and your family after 90 days.
•Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) program featuring corporate matching contributions.
•Subsidized company share ownership plan for long-term personal wealth accumulation.
•Generous monthly car allowance of $600 coupled with a company-provided gas card.
•Dedicated monthly mobile phone stipend ranging from $80 to $100.
•Full reimbursement for parking, business travel expenses, and client entertainment meals.
•Exclusive employee pricing on thousands of premium meat, seafood, and specialty food products.
•Access to an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) for holistic well-being.
•Structured three-month training and territory relief onboarding program to guarantee success.
•Stable, permanent, full-time position within a protective and rewarding unionized framework.

Responsibilities
•Drive commercial growth across the Vancouver lower mainland territory by executing strategic B2B sales initiatives.
•Identify and actively prospect new business opportunities with restaurants, retailers, and foodservice providers.
•Manage an established customer base, acting as a trusted consultant and premium protein product specialist.
•Perform weekly collection of account balances, distributing statements, managing credits, and ensuring timely payments.
•Collaborate with culinary accounts to set up weekly advertisements and high-volume promotional campaigns.
•Present customized protein solutions and manufactured food items to maximize account order value.
•Monitor local market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor activities to deliver value-added market insights.
•Analyze sales volume margins and adjust commercial terms to hit branch profitability targets.
•Attend regular regional sales meetings and actively participate in the annual corporate conference.
•Maintain high accessibility via phone to resolve urgent client inquiries and ensure exceptional customer care.
•Dedicate Fridays to administrative tasks, pipeline documentation, and territory planning at the Richmond branch.

Qualifications
Skills
•Proven business development and territory management capabilities with a dedicated hunter sales approach.
•Strong commercial negotiation, active listening, and relationship-building skills within the distribution sector.
•Analytical mindset capable of evaluating market trends, competitor landscapes, and profitability margins.
•Exceptional time management, self-motivation, and organizational skills required for independent road travel.
•Resilience and adaptability when navigating fast-paced environments and shifting customer demands.
•Proficiency in utilizing modern CRM applications, sales tracking databases, and computer systems.

Requirements
•3 to 5+ years of progressive B2B sales or territory management experience.
•Minimum of 2 years of sales experience within the food service or hospitality industries is highly preferred.
•Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean abstract for extensive road travel.
•Strong computer literacy and comfort using mobile sales tracking and database tools.
