Job description

Role Description

Reporting directly to the Vice President, National Marketing – Retail Experience, this 12‑month contract position is responsible for the overall planning and execution of marketing activities designed specifically for Bayview Village. This is an on‑site role based at Bayview Village.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the day‑to‑day marketing of Bayview Village
  • Execute an annual strategic marketing plan outlining short‑ and long‑term strategies for all aspects of the marketing portfolio including traditional and non‑traditional media, public relations, special events, social media, interactive, customer service, and tenant relations
  • Prepare and manage the annual marketing budget, including coding and processing payables, analyzing variances, and reporting on the budget as requested
  • Develop and produce all marketing communications materials, including collateral, print, broadcast, digital, and environmental media
  • Plan and execute consumer and community‑based events, securing sponsors, hiring vendors, arranging swag bag items, hiring temporary staff, completing insurance paperwork, and preparing event post‑mortems
  • Serve as editor of the internal newsletter, writing copy, editing, designing, proofreading, printing, and distributing
  • Serve as editor of the Bayview Village website, producing content, maintaining schedules, and keeping the site fresh
  • Manage all social media channels, agency coordination, content strategy, social listening, response, tracking, and reporting
  • Oversee the public relations agency and coordinate efforts that maintain the Centre in a favourable light, create interest in the Centre, promote special events, increase tenant exposure, build media relations, and enhance overall perception of the Centre
  • Foster positive relationships with tenants, consumers, community, and philanthropic partners
  • Manage the Marketing Manager, providing tools for success, outlining objectives, training/mentoring, and appraising work
  • Assist Leasing through research and marketing efforts to achieve 100% tenant occupancy and support creation of assets
  • Work collaboratively with other management staff and employees
  • Participate in regular marketing meetings, staff meetings, one‑on‑one retailer meetings, and agency briefings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in a related marketing position
  • Experience leading a team is an asset
  • Strong understanding and experience with various social media platforms
  • Strong organizational, planning and time‑management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and handle competing priorities and deadlines
  • Positive, customer‑first attitude
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Compensation

Expected annualized base salary range: $100,000 – $110,000 (prorated for the duration of the contract). Final salary will consider experience, education, market compensation, and internal equity.
