We are currently looking for an Occupational Health Nurse at our Selkirk, MB facility.
Basic Function
Provide health care services to all employees and contractors at Gerdau's Manitoba Mill, Recycling and Bradley locations.
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, you are in daily contact with managers, supervisors, administrative staff, hourly employees, contractors, union representatives & safety captains regarding injuries, first aid treatment, annual hearing tests, wellness initiatives (including EAP), first aid kit supplies & Disability Management issues.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting and administering the Disability Management program including return to work coordination and WCB processes/reporting
- Managing the hearing conservation program and medical screenings
- Delivering health education and promoting preventative care initiatives
- Managing wellness programs (such as gym membership benefits program information, EAP referrals)
- Providing on-site first aid treatment to employees and contractors
- Review/analyze incident report data on a monthly/annual basis with site leadership and recommend corrective action to improve results
- Assist with other safety program activities as required
Qualifications
- BN, RN, LPN, or Occupational Health Nursing Certificate designation
- Licensed Industrial Audiometric Technician (LIAT) or willingness to obtain
- 3-5 years Occupational Health Nursing in a manufacturing setting is preferred
- Emergency response experience
- Ergonomic experience is a definite asset
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in maintaining reports and documentation
- Superior communication (written & verbal) interpersonal and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality
