Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team on a contract basis. The right person for this role works comfortably across complex UX problems and polished visual design without losing quality at either end. You bring a strong eye for visual hierarchy, typography, and interaction detail, and you are direct about trade‑offs, comfortable working across teams, and bring a clear point of view to the work.

This is a role with broad reach. You will work across multiple product streams and teams, including product, and design systems, contributing wherever the work requires.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive end‑to‑end design across multiple product streams, covering entire user journeys from concept to delivery.
  • Translate complex requirements into intuitive, well‑structured flows that balance UX rigor with strong visual design rooted in purpose.
  • Craft high‑quality interfaces with a strong eye for visual hierarchy, typography, motion, and detail to drive emotionally engaging experiences.
  • Design across platforms including web and mobile, with attention to responsive behavior and mobile‑first considerations.
  • Partner with engineering, system, and research teams to ensure design intent is carried through implementation.
  • Work within our established design system, applying components, tokens, and patterns accurately and consistently, and raising gaps or inconsistencies with the design systems team when you find them.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Program Managers to align on priorities and timelines.
  • Advocate for the user by surfacing pain points, proposing solutions, and iterating based on feedback.
  • Contribute to design system work during periods when additional capacity is needed.
  • Stay current on product design trends, tools, and interaction patterns, and bring relevant thinking back to the team.
  • Ensure designs meet WCAG standards and that accessibility is considered at the start, not just applied after the fact.
  • Experience designing complete user journeys, not just individual screens, with a strong grasp of flow, structure, and decision points across an experience.
  • A highly developed eye for detail, visual hierarchy, and interaction quality.
  • An appreciation for limitations and viewing them as opportunities to innovate.
  • Strong command of Figma, including prototyping and component usage.
  • Experience working within a design system, with a solid understanding of components, tokens, and pattern‑based design.
  • The ability to explain your design decisions clearly to both design and non‑design partners.
  • Experience working in cross‑functional teams with product, engineering, and research.
  • Comfort working on both broadly defined concepts and narrowly scoped features.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
  • Experience with mobile‑first and responsive design across multiple breakpoints.
  • A collaborative and comfortable attitude who is eager to find clever solutions to complex problems.

Exceptional Candidates Will Have:

  • Hands‑on experience contributing to or maintaining a design system, beyond just consuming it.
  • Familiarity with design tokens and how they are structured and applied across products.
  • Exposure to A/B testing, analytics, or user research to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Experience working within multi‑brand or multi‑platform product environments.
  • Motion design skills and an understanding of how animation and transitions enhance user experiences.
  • Familiarity with enterprise‑scale product ecosystems.
  • Experience with prototyping tools such as Figma, Framer or otherwise.
