Mechanical Locomotive Supervisor to join our client's rail operations team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and reliable inspection, maintenance, and repair of locomotives through a unionized workforce in a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities: - Lead daily locomotive maintenance and repair operations while ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational targets
- Supervise, coach, and develop unionized and non-unionized employees
- Monitor locomotive inspections, preventative maintenance programs, and repair activities
- Investigate locomotive failures and implement corrective actions to improve fleet reliability
- Conduct safety audits, efficiency testing, and workplace inspections
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures
- Analyze maintenance data and make informed decisions regarding locomotive repairs and service requirements
- Prioritize repair activities to maximize locomotive availability and minimize downtime
- Manage employee performance, attendance, scheduling, and workforce productivity
- Conduct investigations and support labour relations activities as required
- Approve payroll submissions, time-off requests, and authorized expenses
- Coordinate locomotive assignments and train movements
- Optimize equipment utilization and scheduling
- Support train makeup and breakup activities while minimizing service interruptions
Qualifications and Skills: - High School Diploma required
- Valid Driver's License required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in locomotive maintenance, railroad mechanical operations, or a related industrial environment
- Previous supervisory experience leading unionized and/or non-unionized teams is considered a strong asset
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Technology is considered an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and maintenance management systems
- Knowledge of locomotive inspection, maintenance, repair practices, and railway safety regulations is preferred
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
- Safety-focused leader with strong operational awareness
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proven ability to motivate teams and drive performance improvements
- Commitment to reliability, customer service, and continuous improvement
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
