We're looking for a Director, Social, Partnerships & Brand Activations to join our team!
The Director of Social, Partnerships & Brand Activations is a creative and culturally-attuned brand leader responsible for shaping how DAVIDsTEA shows up across social media, partnerships, and live brand experiences in the U.S. and Canada. This role owns the brand’s social presence end-to-end—building engaged communities, driving culturally relevant content, and translating the DAVIDsTEA lifestyle into immersive moments that deepen connection and affinity. Blending strategic vision with hands-on execution, the role connects organic social, influencer and creator partnerships, and experiential activations into one cohesive brand story.

Reporting to: CEO
Responsibilities
Social Media Leadership (U.S. & Canada)
- Own DAVIDsTEA’s organic social strategy and presence across all platforms in the U.S. and Canada, growing reach, engagement, and community.
- Lead the social content calendar end-to-end, ensuring a steady cadence of culturally relevant, brand-right content that drives conversation and connection.
- Manage day-to-day community management and social engagement, building authentic, two-way relationships with the DAVIDsTEA community.
- Develop a nuanced channel and content strategy that reflects the differences between the Canadian and U.S. markets while maintaining one consistent brand voice.
- Track social performance, surface insights, and optimize content and channel mix based on engagement, reach, and growth.
- Partner with eCommerce and Brand Marketing to connect social storytelling to traffic, acquisition, and loyalty.
Partnerships & Influencer Marketing
- Build and manage DAVIDsTEA’s influencer and creator partnerships across the U.S. and Canada, from identification through execution and measurement.
- Maintain a deep understanding of influencer ecosystems, creator partnerships, and emerging content formats, keeping the brand at the forefront of social culture.
- Identify and negotiate brand, cultural, and co-marketing partnerships that expand reach and introduce DAVIDsTEA to new communities.
- Establish scalable partnership playbooks and briefs to ensure consistent, on-brand execution across markets.
Brand Activations & Experiential
- Define and drive DAVIDsTEA’s experiential and activation strategy, bringing the brand’s lifestyle to life across retail, community, and cultural spaces.
- Design, launch, and optimize brand-led experiences—from store moments and product launches to seasonal campaigns and marquee activations.
- Create scalable event platforms and activation playbooks to ensure consistent execution across the U.S. and Canada.
- Identify new partnerships, cultural opportunities, and experiential innovations that strengthen brand affinity and community connection.
- Ensure every experience—whether led or partnered—reflects DAVIDsTEA’s values and brand voice.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Brand Marketing, eCommerce, Retail, Merchandising, PR, and Creative teams to deliver integrated, cohesive brand experiences.
- Align national and market-specific activations while maintaining a consistent brand identity across the U.S. and Canada.
- Share social, cultural, and consumer insights across the organization to inform brand and commercial strategy.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Build, mentor, and lead a small but mighty social, partnerships, and activations team (plus agency and freelance support), fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and accountability.
- Oversee end-to-end production, agency and vendor management, and performance measurement for social and experiential programs.
- Own and manage social, partnerships, and activation budgets, optimizing investment based on impact and ROI.
- Be a solid team player and strong contributing member of the DAVIDsTEA leadership team.

Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in social media, influencer/partnership marketing, brand activation, or experiential marketing, with a proven record of building brands and engaged communities.
- Demonstrated success leading organic social across the U.S. and Canada (or North America), growing reach and engagement.
- Strong understanding of influencer and creator ecosystems, social culture, and emerging content formats.
- Proven success designing and executing high-impact activations, events, and brand moments.
- Experience working within lifestyle, consumer, retail, or CPG brands preferred.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead complex, multi-channel initiatives from concept through execution.
- Strong cross-functional communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing agencies, production partners, and external vendors, and managing budgets to ROI.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, passionate about brand storytelling and community building.
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant graduate degree an asset.
- Bilingualism (English/French) a plus but not a necessity; English required for U.S.-based candidates.
