Safety Manager

Penn‑co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Safety Manager to join our team at our Steinbach office. As the Safety Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the safety team to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety‑related inquiries and concerns within the organization
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and implement solutions to mitigate risks
• Develop and implement safety programs for employees and contractors
• Investigate and report on all accidents, incidents, and near misses
• Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and used correctly
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions
• Stay up to date with industry safety standards and best practices
• Able to travel to remote sites in Canada

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred
• NCSO or equivalent certification from a recognized training institution
• A Class 5 driver’s license with willingness to travel
• Proven experience in a safety management role or similar position
• Experience in the construction field
• Strong knowledge of Canadian safety regulations and standards
• A leader who is relational, collaborative, and confident in their ability to influence others
• Sensitivity and adaptability to different cultures and environments
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment
