Job description
We are first-time parents in Sarnia looking for a warm, reliable, and experienced person to become a trusted part of our family. I own a business and work from home, typically 10 to 14 hours per day in meetings downstairs in my office. My wife is home full-time with our one-month-old daughter. We are looking for someone who can provide support to both mom and baby, allowing mom time to pump, eat, shower, rest, and recover while giving us both additional confidence and support during these early months. We do have an extra bedroom and private bathroom downstairs should occasional overnight assistance ever be needed or mutually agreed upon. This is not a traditional nanny position where you’ll be left alone with the baby from day one. Mom will usually be home, and we’d like to gradually build trust over time. We hope to find someone who becomes a long-term part of our family’s support system. We also plan to grow our family in the future, so we’re looking for someone who is interested in building a lasting relationship with us as our needs evolve. Responsibilities may include: • Caring for our one-month-old daughter while mom is home. • Bottle feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and helping with naps. • Washing and sterilizing bottles and pump parts. • Baby laundry and light household tasks. • Simple meal preparation if time permits. We are ideally looking for someone with extensive newborn experience and a healthcare background, such as an RN, RPN, LPN, internationally educated nurse, NICU, postpartum, labour & delivery, pediatrics, PSW, or similar experience. We expect to begin with approximately 3 to 5 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week, with flexibility for both sides. Additional hours may become available if it’s a great fit. The most important qualities are kindness, professionalism, excellent English communication, sound judgment, and someone my wife genuinely enjoys having around. We value personality just as much as experience and hope to build a long-term relationship with the right person.
