Green Room Cook
Required: Immediately
Hours: Scheduled between 8:30am – 6:30pm (for both positions)
Job Type: Part-time Seasonal | 25 hours/week | July – early October 2026
and Full-time | 35 hours/week | July – December 2026
Location: Onsite dining facility, Shaw Festival Theatre, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
Wage: $21.18/hr (plus benefit and RSP contribution)
The Shaw’s Green Room is an onsite dining facility that provides food service for staff, Festival Theatre Café and internal catered events. All food is prepared to order and cooked or baked fresh from our menu that changes weekly. The cook’s responsibilities include multitasking while working the line, food preparation and learn multiple weekly menu items. The successful candidate will have previous kitchen experience and a keen interest to learn. Skills required include cooking, entrée plating, ability to read and interpret a recipe, maintaining inventory levels and familiar with restaurant equipment (Flat top, grill, POS system, fryer, slicer). Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team are essential. Cooks are also expected to clean, setup and teardown their station daily (including sweeping and waste removal). Our Green Room team appreciate the respectful and creative environment, learning opportunities, the modern air-conditioned kitchen, the good hours for a culinary facility and complimentary tickets to Shaw performances. Must have reliable transportation.
