Maverick School is an alternative, student driven, academic high school (Grade 10-12) with 6 teachers.The Chinook School Division is proud to serve over 6,000 students in 60 schools, with over 1,000 collegial and student-centered teachers and support staff. We are a vibrant and progressive school division located within Saskatchewan's great Southwest. Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of Maverick School;Providing instruction with multiple instruments: guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums;Instructional focus is contemporary pop, rock, and rap music;The ability to teach from the beginner to the advanced levels;Knowledge of music production, beat making, songwriting, and performance would be an asset;Knowledge of Applied Control Theory would be considered an asset;Experience working in an alternative learning environment;Effective interpersonal and communication skills;Willingness and ability to work collaboratively in a team teach scenario and an ability to work in a team environment;A teaching philosophy that reflects a constructivist and cooperative learning approach;Ability to work effectively within an environment which includes developing meaningful and productive relationships with students, parents, PLC's, professionals and community service agencies;Demonstrated ability to connect with youth in a student-centered learning environment in addition to having an interest or willingness to connect with students outside of the classroom;Certified as a Teacher in good standing in Saskatchewan or the ability to be certified is a requirement.
