Job description

About KOHO

We’re on a mission to make financial services better for every Canadian. That means no hidden fees, no predatory interest rates - just financial products designed to help our users spend smart, save more, and build real wealth. We’re a performance organization with a strong heart: we care deeply about outcomes, and everything ties back to our mission - to financially empower a generation of Canadians.

At KOHO, we’re not your average 9-5. We believe real impact comes from people who are trusted, empowered, and supported to do their best work - without sacrificing their lives to do it. We prioritize work-life integration, not just work-life balance. That means asynchronous collaboration, flexible hours, and a remote-first setup built around autonomy and high trust.

KOHO is entering its next chapter - leaner, smarter, more AI-integrated. We’re building for impact, not bureaucracy. If you thrive in environments that value clarity, ownership, and bold thinking, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Brand Designer to join our team for a role to work remotely based in Canada.

As a Senior Brand Designer, you will lead the conceptualization and execution of compelling visual design across various mediums. The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual with a proven track record of producing high-quality design work with a focus on brand development and implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of design principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex ideas into visually engaging solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Conceptualization & Design Execution

  • Lead the development of compelling visual concepts for both product interfaces and GTM campaigns.

  • Manage the end-to-end design process, from ideation to final execution, ensuring high-quality outputs.

  • Stay ahead of design trends, implementing best practices to keep KOHO's designs fresh and relevant.

2. Creative Execution & Innovation

  • Infuse creative and technical innovation into the design process by exploring and utilizing AI tools for efficiency and impact.

  • Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance the design workflow and user experience.

3. Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Marketing and Engineering teams to ensure a cohesive design approach.

  • Foster a collaborative design culture that promotes knowledge-sharing and alignment across teams.

4. Brand Standards & Consistency

  • Establish, maintain, and evolve KOHO's brand standards and guidelines to ensure a consistent experience across all channels.

  • Ensure the design team balances creativity with brand alignment, protecting KOHO’s identity and values.

  • Oversee the quality and consistency of design outputs across product interfaces, communications, and marketing materials.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in brand design and/or marketing, preferably in the fintech industry

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in design, marketing, or related field

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates experience in brand application and art direction

  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and email building tools.

KOHO is for builders.

If you’re energized by challenge, motivated by mission, and want to be part of a team that punches above its weight - we want to hear from you.

The KOHO culture is one of collaboration, creativity, and diverse perspectives. We are committed to building and fostering an inclusive, accessible environment for everyone. If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding accessibility needs, please contact peopleaccessibility@koho.ca and the People and Culture team will be happy to help.

AI Disclosure: KOHO uses artificial intelligence (AI) in certain aspects of its recruitment process to screen, assess, or select applicants. For any questions or concerns, please contact us at talent@koho.ca.

Note: this posting is for an existing vacancy that we are seeking to fill.
