Location of Work
- The primary location where the contractor will carry out the work is 350 King Edward, Ottawa, ON K1A OX1
- The contractor may also be asked to work from a secondary location at 161 Goldenrod (Tunney's Pasture).
- The Asset management technicians, shipping / receiving will work on site 5 days a week from our warehouse facilities locate in Ottawa (King Edward and Tunney's pastures).
Onsite Work: Full-time onsite (5 days a week).
About the Opportunity
Shared Services Canada's Strategic Staging and Disposal (SSD) unit temporarily requires the services of two Asset Management Technicians in Shipping and Receiving to support disposal, shipping, and receiving operations of telecommunication equipment.
The successful candidates will collaborate closely with a dedicated team to ensure the efficient management of warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving of equipment. Their contribution will be instrumental in maintaining the quality and integrity of inventory, as well as in facilitating timely deliveries to customers.
This is a temporary help services engagement under the THS for the National Capital Region (Client) Supply Arrangement, Competitive Method 2, and is open exclusively to pre-qualified THS for the Client supply arrangement holders.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Asset Management Technicians must perform the following activities:
- Ensure efficient management of IT assets, handle tasks such as receiving, shipping, storing, pick ups and handling of assets while collaborating with colleagues and following our procedures and guidelines.
- Coordinate warehousing services, prepare outgoing shipments, verify, catalog, store, distribute, triage and dispose of materials/assets efficiently, fulfill material requisitions, and follow proper handling and storage.
- Supporting Receiving and Unloading: Assisting with receiving incoming deliveries, inspecting goods, and unloading packages.
- Receiving and Inspection: Assist with receiving incoming deliveries of telecommunication devices, including inspecting goods and unloading packages. Ensure that all items are accounted for and properly documented.
- Triage and Sorting: Aid in the unboxing and sorting of returned devices. Help organize and separate devices based on the disposal strategy, such as reuse, donation, destruction, and recycling.
- Assisting with Inventory Management: Supporting the tracking and recording of assets and inventory as needed.
- Maintaining Workspaces: Ensuring that work areas, storage spaces, and other facilities are clean and organized to facilitate efficient operations.
- General Administrative Support: Assisting with various administrative tasks such as record-keeping, data entry, and communication with team members or partners.
Minimum Mandatory Qualifications
Education:
- Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Language:
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English required.
- Language profile: BBB (Intermediate reading, writing, and oral interaction in both official languages).
Security:
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Reliability Status, granted or approved by the Contract Security Program (CSP), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
- The organization must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS), issued by the Contract Security Program (CSP), PWGSC.
Additional Mandatory Criteria (M1)
Candidates must demonstrate successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience. Typical duties relevant to this criterion include:
- Moving materials
- Packaging, shipping and receiving, inventory and order picking

Travel Requirements
There is a travel requirement associated with this contract. Travel and living expenses incurred for services provided within the National Capital Region (Client) or for travel between the contractor's place of business and the Client will not be reimbursed by Canada.
