Job description
Are you someone who enjoys working on-site, meeting clients, and turning project details into clear, accurate estimates? Great Canadian Roofing & Siding is looking for a Field Estimator (internally known as Field Estimator I) to join our team! In this role, you'll conduct inspections, build estimates, and support roofing and exterior project sales. With a strong focus on development and internal growth, we're committed to helping our team build meaningful, long-term careers.A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FIELD ESTIMATORAs a Field Estimator, you'll spend your day on-site conducting inspections, gathering measurements, and assessing project scope for roofing and exterior work. You'll prepare detailed estimates, document site conditions, and ensure all information is accurately captured in CRM and estimating systems.You'll work directly with clients to explain scope, pricing, and next steps, helping build trust and move projects forward. You'll also coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff from sales to production. From following up on opportunities to supporting the close of projects, your work will play a key role in delivering a strong customer experience and successful project outcomes.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent experience.1-2 years of experience in construction, roofing, exterior sales, or a related field is preferred.Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.Demonstrated ability to conduct site inspections and prepare basic cost estimates.Working knowledge of roofing and exterior systems, materials, and installation practices.Basic understanding of estimating principles, including material takeoffs and labour costing.Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and scope documents.Proficiency in CRM systems, estimating software, and mobile inspection tools.Strong communication skills to explain scope, estimates, and next steps to clients.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage appointments and documentation.Ability to work independently while following established processes and guidelines.If you're detail-oriented, customer-focused, and enjoy working in the field, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!ARE YOU READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?If you believe you're the right fit for this position, please fill out our initial 3-minute, mobile-friendly application.
