Youth Physical Programs Child & Youth Program Instructor

The opportunity:Join our team at the Wasaga Beach YMCA Simcoe/Muskokaas a Child and Youth Program Instructor and be part of a journey of fun and growth! We are all about creating a safe and exciting environment for children youth and families while delivering top-notch values-based programs and this role you will provide exceptional programming for our Stay and Play program offering play-based drop - in this role you will:Deliver structured programs for children and youth with the ability to modify programs to meet the age-appropriate and developmental needs of all participantsCoach and appropriately supervise children during scheduled programsCommunicate with all participants and their caregivers members staff and volunteersMaintain records as needed including attendance sheets program area maintenance items and daily checklistsWork as part of a team to ensure a clean and well maintained facility at all timesYou bring:A positive enthusiastic attitudeExcellent oral and written communication skillsExceptional time management and organizational skillsStandard First Aid/CPR Certification CHealthy Child Development training or experience working with children in a recreational setting is an assetClear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector ScreeningMust be able to work flexible hours based program needsWillingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including:AODA TrainingHealth & Safety Awareness TrainingBill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) TrainingPCI ComplianceWHMISChild Safeguarding TrainingWhy work for the Y:At the YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka we believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and staff.
