As our ideal candidate you bring a wealth of experience in municipal infrastructure and a passion for leading projects and people. You have a strong track record designing and managing projects related to water transmission distribution pumping and storage; wastewater collection and pumping; and stormwater management. You take a leadership role in the projects and with your expertise you will play a key role in project planning execution and delivery while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the success of our multidisciplinary team.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold Excellence:Oversee the preparation of contract documents and conduct quality checks on deliverables to maintain CBCLs high standards;
- Help Shape the Future of Municipal Infrastructure:Contribute to the design and planning of infrastructure projects for cities towns provincial/federal governments industrial sites and developers;
- Lead and Innovate:Provide people and technical leadership across project development and delivery including overseeing engineering calculations refining design concepts and ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards. Support business development by responding to RFPs managing client relationships and participating in industry associations and conferences. Collaborate closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective innovative solutions;
- Oversee Site Operations:Conduct and lead site visits field assessments and infrastructure investigations. Provide technical guidance during construction review contractor work for compliance and support resident engineering services as needed; and
- Drive Project Success:Prepare and review technical reports feasibility studies design drawings cost estimates proposals and tender documents. Manage project deliverables coordinate with clients and stakeholders and contribute to business development efforts.
Other Related Duties as Required:
- Present findings at industry conferences and share expertise through technical papers and presentations;
- Develop and enhance tools workflows and design standards that improve project efficiency and outcomes; and
- Identify and explore new service areas to expand our Municipal Group.
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
- Educational and Professional Credentials:A bachelors degree in civil engineering is required with a Professional Engineer (.) designation or eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia;
- Experience:Working in a leadership position with a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm for more than 10 years with the last 2 years leading and directing large municipal infrastructure projects;
- Technical/Design Expertise: Experience leading and managing the design of large infrastructure projects within Atlantic Canada with working knowledge of Atlantic Canadian regulations and various municipal standards. Experience with Ontario-based projects and municipal class environmental assessments would be considered an asset;
- Strategic Communication & Client Engagement:Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare technical reports proposals and presentations. Ability to liaise effectively with clients stakeholders and regulatory bodies;
- Organized and Detail-Oriented:Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently maintain attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment; and
- Team Player:A collaborative mindset and a passion for contributing to a positive team environment.
