Junior Sommelier

Position: Junior Sommelier
Location: Alberta Rockies
Position Overview:
Junior Sommelier assists in the execution of an exceptional wine program and contributes to the overall success of the beverage service.Duties and Responsibilities:
•Support the Senior Sommelier and Senior Food and Beverage Operations Manager in maintaining an outstanding wine list and inventory.
•Learn and provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and menu choices.
•Assist in organizing and participating in wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and patrons.
•Collaborate with the kitchen team to understand and create wine pairings for special events and promotions.
•Ensure proper storage and handling of wines, adhering to quality standards.
•Contribute to managing wine inventory, monitoring sales trends, and optimizing stock levels.
•Stay informed about industry trends, new releases, and emerging winemakers.
•Uphold high standards of service etiquette and professionalism.
•Engage in the ongoing development and updating of the wine program. Qualifications:
•Certification in wine studies or Sommelier training.
•Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant.
•Enthusiastic about wine and eager to expand knowledge in the field.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Customer-focused with a passion for enhancing the dining experience.
•Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant environment.
•Capable of lifting and carrying wine cases, standing for extended periods, and moving comfortably in a restaurant setting. #ABHO
