The successful candidate will support the continued growth of Oakridge’s snow and ice division while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery across all sites.

Reporting to the Grounds Senior Manager, the Snow and Ice Operations Manager will work closely with internal teams, clients, supervisors, equipment partners, and suppliers to ensure operational readiness, strong communication, and consistent performance throughout the winter season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review available equipment, identify replacement needs, and coordinate removals or adjustments as required with the Equipment Manager to ensure all equipment is ready for the snow season.
  • Create inspection rotation schedules for snow supervisors and ensure daily site inspections and daily work reports are completed accurately and in accordance with company policy.
  • Review snow-related profit and loss information, monitor operational costs, and support financial accountability across the division. Monitor project targets before, during, and after each job; track labour and material costs and escalate concerns to management when targets are at risk.
  • Work closely with production managers to balance snow operations with construction priorities.

  • Assist with scheduling and ensure labour and equipment crews are used efficiently.
  • Coordinate end-of-season requirements such as removal of snow bins and markers, power sweeping, power washing, and line painting.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing snow operations.
  • Experience with scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and job safety practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, crews, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract, which must be maintained as a condition of employment
  • Knowledge of Bid2Win is considered an asset.

Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong understanding of contractual scopes of work and service expectations.
  • Ability to make timely, practical decisions during changing weather and operational conditions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong experience scheduling crews, equipment, and winter resources.
  • Ability to represent OLC professionally and positively with clients, customers, and internal teams.
