JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES :
Human Resource Management :
- Manage and oversees the day-to-day Spa Departments and all they entail.
- Ensures the training of the Spa staff to exceed standards. Ability to work with Learning Manager and Designated Trainers to achieve the best possible learning environments for spa staff.
- Works with and supervises professional personnel including Spa Therapists, Technicians, Astheticians
- Maintain operating criteria / spa concepts and be responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all Spa related services in relation to consistency with policies, philosophy and objectives for the Spa.
- Interview and select job applicants as well as effectively supervise, discipline, mentor and give performance evaluations for Spa employees.
- Participate in regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes as well as ways to increase sales and service.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure a supporting team of professionals
- Initiate and maintain communication on all levels with staff, colleagues and management.
- Convey clear instructions and guidance to staff and establish working relationships that attain a high level of effective employee morale.
- Develop and enhance programs and policies to ensure employers of choice and retention of high performers.
Operations Management :
Work closely with Engineering to maintain quality and mechanical operation of all Spa equipment.Oversee the cleanliness of the Spa and coordinate special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering.Understand and implement emergency response procedures and respond properly in any hotel / spa emergency to assure staff and guest safety.Effectively integrate Spas with the Hotel operations wherever possible and in accordance to the direction of Spa trends.Utilize all computer systems relevant to the departments.Maintain guest profiles with important information to be passed onto management.The ability to ensure all equipment is kept in perfect working condition and reports any deficiencies to the proper department.Anticipate, in advance, all materials and supplies and assure their availabilityCertified in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and first aide and also assures sufficient number of certified spa staff is on premise at all times.Cross-trained in all functions of the spa where appropriate.Support in the development of new treatments / concepts to continually keep the Spa at the forefront of the industry.Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.Keep Senior Spa Director informed about the department, all employees' performance, and guests concerns and comments.Interact with guests, providing full knowledge and assistance for maximum guest usage in a friendly but unobtrusive manner with all guests.Marketing :
Predict trends and implement for the good of the business.Liaise with the Public Relations Department in order to promote the Spas and all relevant treatments / philosophies.Financial :
Schedule staff and complete payroll records and reports in accordance with budgeted guidelines.Responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage and cost-effective usage of all department related materials and assets, according to standards to ensure for smooth operation.Issue recommendations regarding the annual operating budget, capital investment budget, operating planning, and further periodic evaluations of financial performance, including reports on sales and operations with supporting statistical data.Promote growth through increasing revenue and daily operational efficiency while maintaining healthy spa morale.PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & SKILLS :
Education and Experience :
College degree preferredApplicants are required to have a minimum 3 years management experience in a luxury Spa.Skills and Abilities :
Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English languageDemonstrates strong knowledge of spa, wellness and holistic modalitiesThorough knowledge of 5-star service standards, effective application of spa staffing models, proven ability to create and implement spa service menus, effective retail management, successful marketing strategies, and demonstrated ability to project costs, revenue and to adhere to the budget that supports monthly / annual financialsStrong delegation, leadership, and operational skills to effectively manage high-volume performance and require previous experience managing high-volume stores or equivalentProven leadership track record and luxury retail sales experienceAbility to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, particularly important are an attention to detail and accuracyGood organizational skills and ability to work independentlyAbility to set priorities and adjust to changing work conditions in order to function well under pressureStrong work ethic and a sense of responsibility to a team dynamicAbility to operate computer equipment and execute retail software processes associated with Book for Time, reporting features, accounting, inventory maintenance and cash handling procedures.WHAT WE OFFER :
