Who we need We are hiring a Laboratory Technician to join our Inorganic Air Laboratory team in Mississauga.

This is a hands-on laboratory role responsible for preparing environmental samples for analysis while ensuring accuracy, quality, safety, and turnaround time commitments are met.

This position plays a critical role in supporting laboratory operations and producing reliable analytical data.

You will perform routine sample preparation activities, follow established laboratory procedures, and contribute to the efficient processing of environmental samples in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

This existing role is based in our Mississauga laboratory and is expected to work on-site five days per week.

Standard hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or Saturday work during peak periods.

Develop specialized technical skills.

You will gain experience with laboratory techniques, sample preparation procedures, laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and quality-focused operating practices.

How you will make an impact Prepare environmental samples for analysis.

You will perform sample preparation activities including extraction, digestion, pipetting, dispensing, centrifuging, and other laboratory procedures while following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Support laboratory production and quality objectives.

You will organize daily workloads, meet turnaround time commitments, maintain sample integrity, and ensure work is completed within quality and holding time requirements.

Maintain accurate laboratory documentation.

You will record and track sample information, update laboratory systems, and ensure complete and accurate documentation throughout the testing process.

Promote a safe and compliant laboratory environment.

You will follow health and safety requirements, identify procedural concerns, maintain a clean workspace, and support Bureau Veritas quality standards and operating procedures.

Collaborate with laboratory teams.

You will communicate workflow updates, escalate non-routine samples when required, and work closely with colleagues to support daily laboratory operations.

What you bring Education and technical aptitude.

You have a Chemical Technician Diploma or post-secondary education in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.

Experience gained through work, co-op placements, internships, or academic laboratories is considered an asset.

You are comfortable using computers, laboratory systems, and documenting information accurately.

Safety and quality focus.

You understand the importance of working safely in a laboratory environment and consistently follow procedures designed to protect people, samples, and equipment.

You take pride in producing accurate work, maintaining detailed records, and adhering to quality standards.

Compensation This posting is required to meet our seasonal capacity.

The salary for this role is $17.60 per hour.

Our salary reflects the range of skills and experience required for the posted position.

The final offer amount for this role will depend on geographical region, applicable experience, internal equity, and the skillset of the candidate.
