Who we need We are hiring Laboratory Technicians – LC/MS (PFAS Lab) to join our Environmental Laboratory team in Mississauga.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced analytical laboratory role focused primarily on environmental sample extraction and preparation for LC/MS analysis, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and quality data production.

You will work in a high-volume lab environment where precision, consistency, and adherence to procedures are essential.

This is a replacement hiring need due to increased operational demand, and we are seeking individuals who thrive in structured laboratory settings and enjoy practical, detail-oriented technical work.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, working Monday to Thursday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, with potential overtime depending on volume.

How you will make an impact Perform environmental sample extraction and preparation.

You will carry out sample handling, extraction, and clean-up procedures for environmental matrices using established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ensure data quality and sample integrity.

You will follow strict SOPs to maintain sample integrity and produce high-quality, defensible analytical results.

Prepare reagents and standards.

You will prepare analytical reagents and standards required for extraction and LC/MS workflows.

Maintain laboratory equipment.

You will verify, calibrate, and maintain volumetric devices and other laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance.

Support documentation and traceability.

You will maintain clear, accurate records to ensure full traceability and reconstruction of all laboratory activities.

Support continuous improvement.

You will assist in method development and validation activities under the guidance of senior chemists and supervisors, and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and quality.

Maintain lab operations and safety.

You will support general laboratory duties including cleaning glassware, archiving samples, managing consumables, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

What you bring Education and laboratory foundation.

You have a post-secondary diploma or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Laboratory coursework or hands-on academic lab experience is required, with 1+ year of laboratory experience considered a strong asset.

Hands-on technical laboratory skills.

You have experience with sample handling and core laboratory techniques such as pipetting, extraction methods (e.g., SPE, LLE), or similar workflows.

Exposure to automated laboratory equipment is considered an asset.

Strong adherence to procedures and quality standards.

You are comfortable working in a structured laboratory environment and consistently follow SOPs, quality systems, and safety requirements.

Attention to detail and documentation.

You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and maintaining clear, complete, and traceable laboratory records.

Accountability and teamwork.

You are dependable, take ownership of your work, and contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

You are comfortable working with repetitive workflows, maintaining focus under pressure, and meeting production timelines while remaining open and motivated to learn new methods and skills.

The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour.

Our salary ranges reflect the range of skills and experience required for the posted position.

The final offer amount for this role will depend on geographical region, applicable experience, internal equity, and the skillset of the candidate.
