Family Physician - Rosetown/Elrose/Eston

Job Description

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a family physician to provide physician services in the and Rosetown Primary Care Centre located in the Town of Rosetown.

Physicians practicing in Rosetown will also provide support to the satellite clinics in Elrose and Eston. This modern, efficient office uses an electronic health record (Accuro) and provides initial comprehensive assessments, care and follow up to Rosetown area residents. The physician will be expected to work with other care providers such as nurse practitioners, community services and facility staff. The Physician may be required to provide visiting services to nearby Elrose which includes clinic duties as well as overseeing care of long-term care patients. Physicians have the opportunity for inpatient care for their patients. The physician will also be required to participate in the ER on-call rotation. The successful physician will also enjoy an excellent work/life balance in this progressive clinic that allows for cross coverage for time away.

Physicians will provide patient care and on call emergency coverage. This Physician will work closely with nurses, and other members of the health care team to meet the specific needs of this community and its surrounding area.

Rosetown is located in west central Saskatchewan with a population of approximately 2,500. You will find a high standard of living at an affordable rate. There are swimming pools, ice hockey and skating rinks, tennis courts, gym, walking trail, soccer fields and more – providing a variety of activities to keep you and your family active year round. There is an excellent elementary school and high school available in Rosetown for a variety of ages allowing for an education in the public system.

Rosetown is a short 60-minute drive to Saskatoon – a larger city of over 270,000 and home to an international airport and excellent shopping. Rosetown is home to a brand-new long term care facility. A new model of care will see health professionals and support staff serving patients in a building designed to bring services to the patient as promptly and effectively as possible.

Relocation Package

The Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP) which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan. The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $3,500 - $7,000.

Job Qualifications

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

The candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the . Successful applicants will be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan. Applicants will also hold ACLS certification.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
