Job description

Our client, a healthcare provider dedicated to delivering quality primary care services, is seeking a Medical Office Receptionist to join their team. As a Medical Office Receptionist, you will be an essential part of the front-line support team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the family physician's office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Medical Office Receptionist

Location: Markham, ON

Pay Range: $20-$24 ( based on experience )

Shift: 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 12:30pm Friday

Assignment Length: Initial 2 weeks full time , after which the position transitions to part time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week

What's the Job?

  • Answering incoming calls and managing appointment scheduling and rescheduling.
  • Entering and submitting OHIP billing accurately and efficiently.
  • Processing payments for uninsured services and supporting administrative tasks related to patient care.
  • Assisting primary care providers with messaging, prescriptions, forms, and medical record retrieval from EMR systems.
  • Managing the flow of the office, including maintaining exam rooms, handling faxes and mail, and ensuring a clean and stocked environment.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of Grade 12 education.
  • Completion of Medical Office Administration diploma is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, email, internet research, and familiarity with EMR systems such as AccuroPro.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is an asset.
