HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Software Developer in Test to support the development and maintenance of automated testing solutions for critical mobile applications.

In this role, you’ll help expand automated test coverage, reduce manual testing efforts, and support the reliability of mobile applications used by fleet operators and customers. You’ll work closely with software, infrastructure, and QA teams to develop automated tests, improve existing testing frameworks, and validate new functionality across iOS and Android platforms.

The ideal candidate is passionate about software quality, enjoys solving technical problems, and is eager to grow their skills in test automation and mobile application testing.

As a Software Developer in Test, you'll:
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for iOS and Android applications.
  • Support the enhancement of existing mobile test automation frameworks and testing infrastructure.
  • Assist with the configuration and maintenance of device farms in Sauce Labs and CI/CD testing workflows.
  • Help develop backend mocking solutions to support more reliable and efficient mobile application testing.
  • Create and execute functional, integration, and regression test suites.
  • Investigate test failures, analyze results, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to test coverage for new features, edge cases, and high-priority workflows.
  • Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, and infrastructure teams to improve testing efficiency and software quality.

Requirements

  • Experience programming in Python, Kotlin, Java, Swift, or similar languages
  • Familiarity with mobile application development or testing concepts
  • Exposure to mobile testing frameworks such as XCUITest, Espresso, Compose Testing, Appium, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as PyTest, Git, Jira, and CI/CD workflows
  • Basic understanding of API testing and software testing methodologies
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-based development environments
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform
  • Experience using Sauce Labs or similar cloud-based testing platforms
  • Familiarity with Node.js, Express, or backend application development
  • Experience with test automation projects through coursework, internships, or professional experience

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
