Responsibilities: Rail Flaw Detection & Operations - Monitor and maintain rail testing frequencies and compliance
- Review daily operational reports and ensure accuracy in reporting and billing
- Schedule testing activities and provide regular updates
- Audit field operations to ensure quality and adherence to procedures
- Coordinate with dispatch and field teams to resolve operational issues
Leadership & People Management - Lead and support unionized personnel
- Set performance objectives and provide coaching and feedback
- Train and mentor team members
- Communicate organizational goals, policies, and expectations
Investigations & Analysis - Lead investigations into rail failures, defects, and derailments
- Analyze root causes using technical data, field reports, and inspection results
- Provide recommendations to improve reliability and prevent future issues
- Prepare and present investigation summaries to leadership
Qualifications and Skills: · High School Diploma or equivalent
· Valid Driver's License
· Engineering degree or P.Eng. designation (asset)
· 2+ years of experience in rail flaw detection
· Experience in track maintenance or rail operations (asset)
· Previous leadership or supervisory experience (asset)
· Experience in data analysis and project management (asset)
· Strong leadership and team development skills
· Problem-solving and analytical thinking
· Effective communication and collaboration
· Safety-focused mindset and risk awareness
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret and create technical documentation
- Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset
· Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
