Job description

We are currently seeking licensed security staff to assist during the Heritage Days Festival : July 27th - August 5th

  • $18/hr to start with an opportunity for for further Full or Part- time or full- time employment.
  • Training will be provided if security licensed
  • Professional References upon completion.

Requirements:

  • Valid security license
  • Availability for time period
  • Khaki pants and black boots/shoes
  • Transportation to Hawrelark Park
  • Unifrom shirts will be provided
  • Own transportaation preferred

Special Events Security Agent


Position Summary

The Special Events Security Agent is responsible for helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all guests, staff, and event participants. This role supports venue access control, guest screening, crowd management, and customer service while ensuring compliance with site-specific procedures and safety requirements.

The duties listed below represent the minimum requirements of the position. Additional responsibilities outlined in site-specific post orders may also apply.


Responsibilities

  • Help ensure the safety and security of guests by conducting entry screening and inspections in accordance with venue policies and procedures.
  • Professionally communicate venue policies regarding prohibited items and non-compliant bags or belongings that are not permitted inside the venue.
  • Conduct security screenings, including bag checks and physical screening procedures when required and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and site procedures.
  • Deliver security and customer service duties that reflect the organization's values, standards, and site-specific requirements.
  • Assist guests with special requests, accessibility needs, and accommodation inquiries.
  • Monitor crowd activity and promptly report suspicious behavior, safety concerns, incidents, or security risks to supervisors.
  • Identify and appropriately escalate security concerns to supervisors, venue management, emergency personnel, or law enforcement when necessary.
  • Complete incident reports, activity logs, and other required documentation using company-issued technology and approved software platforms.
  • Consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts, adhere to attendance expectations, follow instructions, and maintain professional appearance and uniform standards.
  • Build positive relationships with guests, clients, team members, and venue staff through exceptional customer service.
  • Safeguard and properly maintain company-issued equipment, including radios, access cards, keys, devices, and other assigned property.
  • Perform additional duties, special projects, and assignments as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Some assignments may require frequent stair climbing.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs (4.5 kg) and occasionally up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
  • Ability to safely move equipment weighing up to 20 lbs (9 kg).

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a fast-paced event environment where noise levels may be loud to very loud during events.
  • The position may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
  • Shift schedules may vary based on event requirements.


Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successfully complete required background screening in accordance with applicable laws and client requirements.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Reliable transportation to and from assigned work locations.
  • Complete all required training and certification programs within established timelines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and organizational values.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
