Job description

President – Shoring & Foundations

Compensation: $300,000 - $400,000+ Total Compensation

Location: Greater Toronto Area

Are you an entrepreneurial construction leader with a proven ability to grow businesses, build high-performing teams, and drive exceptional financial results?

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented President to lead a well-established and rapidly growing shoring and foundations contractor specializing in deep excavation support systems, specialty foundations, geotechnical construction, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a successful business with no debt, a strong market reputation, significant equipment assets, an experienced team, and the capacity to grow from approximately $30M in annual revenue to $50M+.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President will be responsible for the overall leadership, growth, profitability, and strategic direction of the organization.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Leading the overall growth strategy of the business, including market expansion, new client acquisition, and revenue growth.
  • Owning full P&L responsibility and delivering strong financial performance, profitability, and shareholder value.
  • Building and developing high-performing leadership teams across operations, project management, estimating, business development, and support functions.
  • Driving operational excellence across all projects, ensuring safe, profitable, and successful project delivery.
  • Expanding relationships with developers, owners, general contractors, engineers, consultants, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Maximizing the utilization and return on significant equipment and capital assets.
  • Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, employee development, and continuous improvement.
  • Leading strategic planning initiatives to support long-term business growth and market leadership.

What We're Looking For

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within shoring, foundations, geotechnical construction, heavy civil infrastructure, or related construction sectors.
  • Demonstrated success leading a profitable construction business with full P&L accountability.
  • Proven track record of growing revenue, expanding market share, and improving profitability.
  • Strong understanding of deep foundations, excavation support systems, geotechnical construction, and heavy civil projects.
  • Experience leading unionized construction operations and working effectively with labour partners.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a passion for developing people, building teams, and creating high-performance cultures.
  • Strong business development and relationship management capabilities with clients, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance growth, operational performance, workforce development, and financial discipline.

Why This Opportunity?

This role offers the opportunity to lead a respected and growing contractor with an established reputation in the shoring and foundations market. With significant growth potential, strong financial backing, and a talented team already in place, the successful candidate will have the autonomy and resources to shape the future direction of the business while creating lasting value for employees, clients, and stakeholders.

If you are a proven construction executive who thrives on building businesses, developing people, and delivering results, we welcome a confidential conversation.
