Job description
Elevate Community Care Durham's governance as a Board Member focusing on legal and regulatory matters. Ideal for seasoned legal professionals dedicated to community service. Community Care Durham is looking for candidates to enhance its Board of Directors with a strong legal background. This position emphasizes Legal Assurance and Risk Mitigation within a governance framework. Board Members will utilize their expertise in the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act while fostering the organization’s mission to serve individuals and caregivers. Key Responsibilities: • Provide expert legal oversight and strategic governance • Evaluate risks and guide mitigation strategies • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies • Foster long-term sustainability and effective governance • Contribute to the mission of enhancing community independence Requirements: • Practicing or retired lawyer or senior legal professional • Knowledge of Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act • Proficiency in health law and regulatory compliance • Background in labour and employment relations • Experience in contracts and real estate matters Bring your legal expertise to strengthen CCD's service to the community. #J-18808-Ljbffr
