Job description

Senior Manager, Domestic Tax – Privately Held Business Areas

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Southern Ontario team and be supported by a national network of professionals.
  • Assist businesses and individuals with a wide range of tax, financial and succession planning services.
  • Be part of a work culture that encourages professional development and career growth.
  • Serve as a well-respected professional, contributing to a successful business that delivers highly valued solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients and co‑workers to develop and implement creative solutions.
  • Engage closely with clients on a variety of local, national and international projects.

Additional Responsibilities and Leadership

  • Develop exceptional tax planning ideas and solutions to support client business objectives.
  • Lead the management and development of the growing tax practice.
  • Assist clients with income tax planning, implementation and compliance for complex private business corporate, personal and trust matters.
  • Identify, develop and pursue new opportunities for value‑added tax services.
  • Provide exceptional client service and stay attuned to new legislation, interpretations and market factors.
  • Coach and mentor professional staff.
  • Prepare and present information to clients, colleagues and other professionals.

Qualifications

  • Completion of the CPA Canada In‑Depth Tax Program or a Masters of Taxation degree.
  • Substantive expertise in succession, trust and estate matters within private business tax planning and compliance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional client service.
  • Ability to develop, present and apply new ideas, creative approaches and innovative solutions.
  • Strong teamwork and independent work skills.
  • Interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth.
  • Excellence in product quality and attention to detail.
  • Team player able to rally resources and collaborate to meet client needs.
