Registered Practical Nurse in Whitby

Become a vital part of Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences as a full-time Registered Practical Nurse in Whitby, Ontario. Your role focuses on providing compassionate care to patients with complex mental health issues in a specialized environment.
This full-time RPN position is based in a new inpatient unit for older adults with dementia within the Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry Program. You will work within an interprofessional team to offer treatment and management strategies tailored to stabilize patients and prepare them for community reintegration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized care to patients with complex mental illnesses
• Collaborate with an interprofessional team for effective patient management
• Perform assessments and document care needs comprehensively
• Implement the Recovery philosophy in all aspects of care
• Adapt to shift work and diverse patient needs across Ontario Shores
Requirements:
• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• CPR-Health Care Provider certification
• Knowledge of CNO Standards of Practice
• Experience in psychiatric nursing or long-term care preferred
• Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
