Position Overview

You are a visionary strategist who thrives at the intersection of big-picture planning and real-world impact. With a knack for navigating complexity, you balance the priorities of regulators, government, and internal stakeholders with confidence—always keeping efficiency, sustainability, and customer value front and center. You know how to turn long-term energy management strategies into actionable, results-driven plans, building business cases that inspire investment and drive change. As a natural leader, you empower teams to deliver high-impact programs, guide multi-year portfolios, and adapt with agility in a fast-evolving environment. Whether leading regulatory approvals, shaping innovative DSM strategies, or coaching others to perform at their best, you bring clarity, collaboration, and forward-thinking leadership to everything you do.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development of business cases for new projects and initiatives, including cross-functional or cross-company project management, and oversees the development and facilitation of DSM Plans.
  • Bring strategies to life with disciplined execution, proactively managing risk and fostering strong collaboration across C&EM, Government Relations & Public Policy, Regulatory, Energy Solutions, Sustainability, Innovation, and other areas within the company
  • Inspire and empower teams with clear direction, coaching, and development, building a high-performing culture while shaping the next generation of C&EM portfolio strategies.
  • Provide thoughtful oversight of key enabling activities, ensuring programs stay aligned with strategic priorities and deliver long-term value.
  • Lead and support regulatory submissions with confidence, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and strong performance tracking across all filings and applications.
  • Monitor program performance with precision, delivering reliable forecasts and navigating corporate processes to adapt quickly and optimize results.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving engagement, consultation, and alignment to move initiatives forward successfully.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline from a recognized program, plus a minimum of five (5) years of recent, related experience with demonstrated success.
  • Strong knowledge of demand side management principles, conservation strategies, and the broader energy industry; experience delivering DSM programs in a regulated utility environment is a valued asset.
  • A proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, complex environments with the ability to quickly learn, adapt, and work independently while navigating evolving processes.
  • Brings a “get it done right” and “can-do” attitude to every challenge—strengthening relationships and delivering value through every interaction.
  • Effective leadership and team-building capabilities, with experience guiding teams and driving program planning and execution.
  • Data-driven and analytically strong, using performance metrics, financial insight, and customer understanding to inform decisions and optimize outcomes.
  • Skilled in managing programs, stakeholders, and external partners, including RFP processes and contractor oversight.
  • Able to work independently, adapt quickly, and navigate complex processes with a high degree of professionalism and emotional intelligence.
  • Government relations experience is an asset
  • Flexibility for occasional travel and a valid BC driver’s license required.
  • Flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend work as needed to meet business priorities.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
